From time to time, EIIR seeks experienced candidates with previous experience in research and/or with significant professional experience to work on government or European Commission funded research projects. Applicants are generally hired for a fixed term period on a full-time or a part-time basis according to the projects' needs.

Research Assistants

Research Assistants are generally first degree candidates with an economics, political sciences, business and/or technology background and excellent academic achievements. They also have a passion for research and a genuine interest in innovation. The primary purpose of the Research Analyst is to support EIIR team members by performing desktop research, assembling materials, drafting and editing documents and presentations, conducting analysis, contributing to papers and reports on innovation issues.

Potential Research Assistants need to display the following qualities:

  • A strong interest in research
  • Ability to work effectively and to handle multiple tasks within tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills and proven ability to perform Internet searches
  • Ability and willingness to work as part of a team
  • A good command of English and good English writing skills
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills
  • High academic achievement

Research Associates

Research Associates have generally an advanced degree such as a DBA or PhD with a background in economics, political sciences, business and/or technology and excellent academic credentials or previous successful relevant work experience in top-tier organisations. They also have a passion for research and a genuine interest in innovation. The primary purpose of the Research Associate is to support EIIR team members by performing statistical analysis, conducting research and interviews, preparing presentations and writing research papers/reports.

Potential Research Associates need to display the following qualities:

  • Proven ability to take initiative and demonstrate a sense of leadership
  • Ability to deliver results in a timely and efficient manner
  • Intellectual integrity
  • A strong personality with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team
  • An outstanding command of English and excellent English writing skills
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with members, funders and partners
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills
  • Proven experience in conducting and writing research reports
  • High academic achievement and/or successful work experience

The RA position is a great springboard for the next step in one's career. Joining EIIR as a RA will give you an international experience and exposure to cutting-edge research in a challenging environment. Typical RAs spend generally 2-3 year in the position before going back to industry, consulting or to pursue a career in academia.
